What are we supposed to do if the right direction for society requires the majority of people to vote for something they never will?

Realise that democracy doesn't work. It's the rich and influential people that hold the decision making power. What the plebs want is almost irrelevant. So you don't need a majority of the people, just of the wealth. Luckily for mankind, people with lots of wealth tend to be rather intelligent.

You don't really think that the billionaires don't understand genetics, do you?

They hold the power because of their money. I say voting power should be decided by intelligence, not money. Hitler was a retard. Einstein wasn't rich.

It depends on the rich individuals. Rich businessmen are smart, rich trust fund playboys are dumb af.

>> No.12573144

>>12573097
People who aren't smart won't be able to leverage a lot of power out of their wealth. Besides, having wealth is a filter that smart people pass more often than dumb ones.

>>12572995
Hitler wasn't wealthy before he became Chancellor. So...

And it's not voting power, it's the influence wealthy people wield over policy making. They would do so in a monarchy too.

Democracy flat out does not work and it'll take some time still until people catch on that it's not all of the people that rule.

you've never hung around the wealthy. By far, I've yet to meet one that doesn't pontificate having 'perspective' while being utterly bereft of it.

>> No.12573896

the health of democracy relies on social institutions not being weakened. The fate of public health, education, etc. becomes the fate of society at large.

sounds like grade B bullshit, what's your reasoning?
also, if true, you should be able to provide an example of a more democratic society than ours which can also be shown to have stronger 'social institutions'
