In terms of page count, the longest DISSERTATIONS are associated with the humanities, especially history, and run on the range of 4-700 pages becuase they are constrained to use natural language. Your post makes no sense in a /sci/ context because the disciplines have developed shorthands which manifestly lower page count. A typical math dissertation runs a little about a hundred pages.

I once met at the bus, a guy who was head of the national university in my country. At one point he mentioned about the possibility of reading 1000 pages in one day to finish a doctorate. Is this possible or was the guy lying? the most I read in one day was 250 pages of a shitty book and I almost ended up crazy. But I can't read more than 30 pages of science books in an entire day.

Favorite book? That's so difficult. There are so many medical texts and historical medical texts I love. Reading and possessing a physical copy of Ibn Sina's Canon of Medicine was something special to me. But I also enjoy reading philosophical works like Either/Or by Kierkegaard.
Favorite fiction author is probably Kafka or Russians like Tolstoy and Bulgakov (A Young Doctor's Notebook is a personal inspiration of mine and I read it every so often lol)
Favorite Shakespeare is Hamlet. Have soliloquys memorized from there.

>lmao that's a waste of time, just read at home
So I stayed at home and started just reading the textbooks, back to back. It worked fine in the first year but by then I started losing my program. I'd wake up later and later, I'd finish earlier and earlier, I'd waste more time and would also cook, which turned me into an obese faggot. I tried going back to class, but I couldn't understand the classes of my current year since I had gaps. Then those same people turned around and said
>lmao you don't read the book, you swap notes and make connections faggot
So, yeah. I lost my footing and had to go back to the 2nd year's classes.
>What happened

Yeah, I don't buy that. How am I to solve an entire exam, exercise with just 3 days of studying? This is a proper exam, not a test. There's no multiple choice. They also ask for us to write down entire proofs, paragraphs and all. The last exercise always takes about 1 to 2 pages to solve.

Most schools, certainly mine, have an option to use your publications as part of your dissertation. Hence the more you publish the easier writing your dissertation becomes.

You are gonna make it, the key is to put in effort into it instead of fretting about the best aproach and whatnot. Doing something is infinitely more producte than sitting in with a thumb up your ass wondering what book to read or videos to watch. Your choice in videos are good, I'd also recommend Professor Leonard ( https://www.youtube.com/c/ProfessorLeonard/videos)) he has great videos on stuff from precalculus and calculus, sounds like exactly what you need. They key with math is to not just watch vids/read books but also to solve problems on your own using the methods, hammering them into your memory. Protip: write yourself a cheatsheet including all the important formulas you'll need to solve the stuff, the act of writing it down for memory will do great things even if you dont look at it once.

>we're all going to make it

Damn right we are

>You are gonna make it, the key is to put in effort into it instead of fretting about the best aproach and whatnot

Well said. the best approaches are probably what your teachers/top students tell you. Cheatsheets, breaking the topic down, and explaining it to someone else help immensely. get rid of distractions, make a start and end time for your work, plan everything, get your sleep, and plan something fun for after you get done with your work to motivate you. If you really need to memorize something fast there's techniques like the Roman room trick, but other than that everything's quite basic

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO GET BETTER AT? SHUT THE FUCK UP AND JUST READ. I can't think of a single fucking
university subject that you can't become a more well-rounded autodidact in, well within a year. I have a
masters degree in electrical engineering and, I shit you not, if you read Art of Electronics cover-to-
cover (6 months of moderate study) you would be a better electrical engineer than 95% of graduates. You
like math? Read Elementary Classical Analysis and then Analysis on Manifolds (<6 months combined), and
wow! Congrats! You are now better at math than literally anybody you will ever meet in your entire life!
A lot of people see One Punch Man and either don't quite get it, or just see it as just a funny parody of
other anime, but seriously, it really is THAT easy: just fucking practice! Nobody fucking does it! That's
the fucking secret! Practice, consistently! 50 pushups a day! Seriously, nobody ever fucking does it.
Think about Duo Lingo, all it asks for is 5-10 minutes of your day, and nobody can even do that! How old
are you? 20? 25? 30? 35? 40? Your answer doesn't matter because I can already tell you will have more
free time in a single year than the average normie will have in 10 years. Just fucking practice. Open a
fucking book, any book, even remotely related to the subject, and read it. Doesn't matter if it's the
right book, or perfect book, 99% of people spend more time planning how to learn something than learning
it. It's all a cope. Just fucking SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

>> No.12575682

I did something similar with my 3rd physics bsc dissertation, so no where as severe.(although this could be a joke on 200 word essay meme). Left 90% of it till the last few days was up for days getting it done.
Handed it in on time but it was pretty bad, spelling errors and poor organization.
I should've asked for a extension looking back or retook the whole year as I rarely went to lectures toward the end and just mass photocopied flatmate notes to cram. Got 2-2 degree and worked in factories for a year afterwards.

Did you just think that you could fucking fool me with that comment of yours? I've searched your name up in linkedin and you have never even graduated, hell, even on university websites through google. If you were actually an educated person, then you actually know how to spell push-ups, you fucking moron. And you say you are an autodidact. If that were true, then why the fuck is harvard a household name and you aren't? You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. Plus why the fuck would you say use 10 minutes of your day on Duo Lingo? Are you a fucking idiot? If you cant plan your readings, I bet you can't even come up with seven. If only you could have done your research prior to posting your little “clever” comment, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you goddamn idiot. And if you had access to the entire US Marine Corps arsenal, then why the fuck did you just say you were in the Navy .

At least you cracked on in the masters and have some sort of long term plan... I didn't really have one. I'm in my 30s now and worked a couple of annoying office-cel IT jobs for 10 years, ended up becoming a loner and private alkie. Tried my hand at small biz - and failed. Now I'm NEET back living with parents fucking lol. But I look back and wished I at least put the effort of going to lectures and putting some hours a week in (not clever enough to get good marks while bunking, worked ok in the 1st year but then went south). Should've tried for masters/phd too, I'm pretty bad at programming tho. But I would've probably screwed up somewhere along the way and been cynical or something like that.
MY old flatmate did a phd and had good work ethnic and now works as a scientist in the US. Two other guys, also physics, were/are very ambitious and also clever and now are pretty minted in Investment Banking JP Morgan etc. Have to go to the job centre again next month to justify NEETbux

I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than publishing your dissertation. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are developing, investigating, proving and writing a hypothesis for at least 4 years solely so it can get published and get ravaged by another man. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little girl - reading thousands of papers, correcting it over and over, making sure it is well redacted, improving it, working on it. All of it has one simple result: this knowledge is more enjoyable for the men that will eventually employ it without even reference it.

Did the perfect thesis? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random man who had nothing to do with the research, who uses it. He gets to read it tight font every night. He gets the benefits of her kind and sweet style that came from the way you wrote it.

As a man who has published, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 4 years of your life simply to develop a theory for another man to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically
