Something that I've always been curious about is that if we were to put an adult level conciousness into a child's body would they:
a. Have the physical mental faculties to maintain that adult level identity
b. Be considered geniuses due to their early grasp of complex topics

I see a fair number of genuinely intelligent posts here from time to time. I think /sci/ might have the highest absolute number of intelligent people on 4chan. However, the mean is dragged down because it also has a huge concentration of schizos and retards.

University psych department tested at 158 junior year of college. Test went to 160 I think. Didn’t know it was an IQ test going in. IQ is basically just measuring the brains ROM and RAM with a nice neat number. Here’s a quick test to see what your IQ range is, when someone mentions a word or an idea, how many distinct thoughts,visuals,words, pop into your head in the next 10 seconds. The more and more varied the smarter you are congrats.

Also, you have to want to do something, not just be capable of it. Having high IQ does not mean that you MUST become a scientist or mathematician.

Not at all, in fact intelligent people are typically much more susceptible to procrastination and frivolous time wasting. However, that doesn't mean they spend that time watching paint dry.
