If scientists are so smart why do we work for non-scientist CEOs and uni chancellors? Why isn't the world run by a cabal of powerful scientists and engineers?
Why are the most powerful and highest earning people heavily weighted to social skills?

Because the people at the top of the social pyramid often had tons of luck and managed to successfully exploit the system. Scientists are smart because they, unlike their superiors, care about the development of the human race, not economical success. Communication plays a massive role, but most people are introverts who have problems with holding conversations. The rise of civilisation brought changes to the process of natural selection, and this is our reality now, unfortunately.

That's social politics, not science or math. You can find smart people at all rungs of the social ladder, although the cooler people are towards the bottom.

Because there are difference types of intelligence, and often, we suck at administration and realpolitik. Simple as.

Better?

Because luck, as this guy >>12519865 said.

Also, some scientists end up making crazy money, like James Harris Simons, who started off as a mathematician working on differential geometry and now runs one of the most successful hedge funds in the world.

wealth organization in societies is 100% social politics, we didn't invent mathematics until very recently

Mesopotamia is where we know, in terms of the historical record, that mathematics was used for administration.
This is a pretty interesting watch:

Simons might be a liar. There is no evidence hes as rich as he says. His high return fund has a capital limit which means it doesn't let you reinvest profits into the fund. Theres all sorts of high ROI businesses with no growth potential e.g a street churros cart, money back in 6 months WOW 200% annual returns!

Mathematics is not at all natural, there are isolated cultures like the Piraha which have no mathematics at all, they lack words for counting numbers, and this is probably what all human cultures looked like until the agricultural revolution. There is not a single person in these cultures, no matter how socially skilled or well-spoken, who has any mathematical skill at all.

Unlike language, socialization, visual arts, music, which are ancient and universal to all human cultures, mathematics evolved very recently, probably just after agriculture, in tandem with reading and writing. So it is extremely unnatural for the brain, your brain will revolt, just like it revolts when you try to learn to read.

The laws of human organization are much older.

The medallion fund is not open to outside investors. His funds open to investors are not that great. He doesn't have much to gain by shilling a fund that does not accept people's money. I also saw a photo of him with George Soros and other rich fags; do you think they would let him in their club if he wasn't loaded?

Gonna call bullshit on that. So are you saying these Piraha people can't tell the difference between two stones and three stones? Even assuming they lack words for counting (which doesn't sound very likely) they surely still count in their heads.

Dude i can make 200% returns at my churro fund. No you can't invest, no you can't see my books, yes investment is limited to one churro cart in this high traffic mall area i found. You can't just put two carts without destroying my %.

Im sure hes loaded but not to the extent he says. Hes likely a billionaire. The purposr of the medallion fund is just publicity, hes putting on a show (muh string theorist) to lure investors to his open funds.

Do you think a dumb fraud like that can make friends with other accredited billionaires? Do you think every billionaire is that retarded?

>>12520052
It's not a secret that his other funds don't perform as well as the medallion fund, so there is little point in advertising something you aren't selling.

But the daily decision making doesn't end up being about science, and it's also about connections and the will to power (not knowledge).
