Hello, /sci/. Is it possible to learn engineering outside of university? I already know multivariable calc, basic physics, chem and bio, and computer science but that's it. I can't go to college until... 1 1/2 years later, so in the meantime I was wondering if it was possible to self study engineering (specifically, biological engineering). Are there online resources to help with this, or do I need hands on stuff? I'm going to REALLY have to catch up on my engineering courses in college (I can pretty much skip freshman year since i have a shitload of AP credits, though I'm not sure if this is possible. Still, it means I won't be bogged down by that many courses when I start late).

You don't know as much as you think you do.

Yes, but in almost all states you can only be certified if you have a degree.

you can't, enjoy having to wait

Yeah, it is just engineering after all.

If you wait a couple of years, you won't even have to go to university (they are phasing out 4-year engineering degree programs in favor engineering vocational programs). Engineering is so easy it can be considered as just a trade, like automechanic. Good Luck!

not sure if troll or not, but really? even stuff like biomedical?

No, not a troll, and yes really.
Right now they are just cutting the basic ones. Eventually they will cut all engineering, even biomedical. That won't be for at least ten years though.
