Scientifically speaking, has the intelligence gap between American academia and the working class always been this large? It seems like the average American is less intelligent now than ever before, yet at the same time increasingly complicated and groundbreaking research is coming out of places like MIT, Stanford etc.

I’m a data scientist in the private sector, with an education in economics. My professors included the chair at the AEI and cabinet members of the Reagan presidency. Academia is no smarter now—in fact, the data indicates to the contrary. Not only are years of education returning less than ever before, but a significant minority of scholars are unable to replicate or meaningfully understand the work of their peers according to recent research.

Don’t buy into *their* nonsense. Academia is a business—both for education and for R&D. Just because they say they’re brilliant—doesn’t mean they are.

The majority of our most valuable R&D comes from the private sector—not from academia. Companies like AT&T, Lockheed Martin, SpacEx, Google, General Dynamics, Bechtel, Boeing, Intel, Sony, IBM, Raytheon, and the working-class scientists they employ are the people who’ve made all of the strides in computing, aerospace, energy, agriculture and telecommunications. It isn’t your college professor.

Sure telecommunications has boosted our ability to collaborate and exchange information overall, increasing human and technological development. But the working class is often more valuable in a free market—take tradesmen and engineers for example—than most in academia. Money generally doesn’t lie.

Half are less intelligent than the average, half are more intelligent. As a general population increases, the numbers increase in each of the extremes. America has a huge population with a society that rewards the intelligent and punishes the stupid, so you tend to get bigger concentrations of each in that country.

isnt anyone going to mention culture? both in america and in europe, there used to be a cultural appreciation for education, inovation, self reliance and dignity. even the dumbest poorest americans had self respect and dignity. but thats all gone. people are shameless now. for everyone talking about balck crime, look at how the ratio of blacks increased less, than the crime commited by blacks. the same goes for europe. the working class used to resent the idea that they are poor and dumb. they took pride in what they did. now every one of them is an alcoholic smelly piece of shit, stealing and barely completing there jobs. one or two generations canot dumb people down this much. but culture can change

Hispanic growth is mainly due to immigration. You are correct that once they're in the US, their fertility rates drop, especially for the second generation and beyond. As long as immigration continues, their population percentage will also continue to increase.

in my uni class of about 200 (originaly 300 but a third has dropped out already) there are maybe 4-5 non tards. some lab classes have "elite " versions, better equipment better profs etc. normali designed for 20 people, criteria for getting in is getting max points previous semester in related class. these classes NEVER fill up. its just me and the same 4-5 people. and this is suposed to be the best uni in my country. uni is going to shit like everything else
