Why would anyone become a mathematician if they could be a physicist? Physicists are the smartest people around and can be used in any field

the guy that taught my diff eq course became a mathematician b/c he couldn't countenance physicists 'throwing away' 'non-physical' solutions. also he hated programming on punch cards. yes he's 80 something now.

oh, it's that kind of thread.

I love physics but so far my professors have been really bad at teaching
Am I gonna have to teach myself all of physics?

According to this image philosophers are purity-wise sort of in the middle between chemists and physicists. And in >>12319526 the same with nLab but shifted more to physicists. While Homotopy Type Theory remains equivalent to psychologists and k-tuply monoidal (n,r) caterogies are slightly less pure than mathematicians.

That's not at all what that image means and science/math can't contradict philosophy.

The diagram is in relation to purity and the philosopher is willing to show it to me. As are the homos, the nlabs and the nigger categories. They are simply showing diagrams about purity, I don't get where you are pulling this information.

The image at top shows philosopher supporting it, not being in the middle. As for the point of "purity" we can assume it's purity of truth and that the image presents an order of precedence highlights the inability of a lower purity truth to comment on the higher. Physics, for example, takes math as an axiom. It can't contradict it. Lots of math works fine outside a physical counterpart.

Well yeah, he can't be INSIDE the image if he is holding it, now can he? It is a perfectly good piece of paper and tearing it up is going to look very not cool. But he still wants to be on the scale so he stands under it. So he firstly shows the diagram and then demonstrates where he is on it by standing under it.
>Physics, for example, takes math as an axiom. It can't contradict it.
That's their problem, there is no need to interfere with their arguing.
