So is transhumanism even a legitimate concept? Y'know, altering and augmenting to turn ourselves into unkillable supermen. Will people this century experience cybernetics at this involved a level.

>>12299056
I dunno about unkillable superman, even modern technology has a failure rate much higher than human beings

>> No.12299093

>>12299075
yeah but there are some machines that have outlived actual humans. wouldn't you want some of that?

>> No.12299097

>>12299093
but there are more actual humans that have outlived machines, you're still lowering your survival chances

>> No.12299145

transhumanism is a nice concept but its not achievable with modern tec it's just to much pain in the ass to do something too little. maybe in the future ey?

by the middle of the century?

ı really don't think so, yes there is new tech every year for medical cases and it is an amazing achievement for that type of application but I don't think we will be able to change our body parts just because we want something cool like superpowers.

It's not practical. At most some freak jew will get a moving prosthesis to display wealth.

Life extension is detrimental to both evolution and economy. Life fast, breed hard and die young.

well what about immortality

will transhumanism get anybody from the 90s and earlier immortality? would anybody from the 00s or the 10s get immortality?

>So is transhumanism even a legitimate concept?
Sure. It already happened.

Cybernetics might take 30 years to get there but gene editing is already possible.

Probably not, a middle calss child of the developed world might benefit from life extension technology to add some decades to his lifespan but a chrysalis machine that would enable rejuvination is still very far away. But it may be possible for a 90s child to get to 2070 and have a few 100.000 dollars ready to double their lifespan and wait for rejuvination and become immortal.

Transhumans have outpaced natural evolution and economy must be changed to fit transhuman state. Endless potential awaits in the endless reach of the cosmos.

That's genetic engineering and probably achievable right now, we heard about mice staying young already.
However we won't get "infinite" just yet because our body was never made to go on forever. Just our teeth for example will ask for new medical tech.

Hearing aids and pacemakers will extend life expectancy in those who need it.

transhuman in a bio sense is 100% legit
idk why people always look at it as surgeries and machinery
we could be achieving some insane shit with bio transhumanism but its like this word has been capsized to direct your attention away from it

Gene editing could make us immortal but retarded moralists don't want that.

something something can i become a cute anime girl?

has this shit been a recent trend? i don't remember this much "muh gene magic" posting back in 2017
