I am fucking doing so bad at my first year of engineering. How important are marks anyways? I could probably pass with the minimum required, but that make feels like shit. What was your worse mark?

It depends on how related your grades are to your knowledge of the material. If you don't know what the fuck you're doing, then that's a concern. If you understand everything but are too lazy to do the work, then that's a different issue.

You must understand that school is just promise of possible boot licking, if you are serious, you can go with less amount of money than students debt into proved education.

Translated to US grades, I have a GPA of 2.3 and might achieve 2.5 after my thesis is done.
Still have a job waiting in line for me.

>> No.12270961

grades aren't that important. but assuming ur doing online school ur grades will improve when you go back in person. if ur not doing online school take comfort in the fact that grades dont matter and you can just pass with the minimum. dont feel like shit for it cus people do that all the time.

In Norway employers are obsessed about grades. Probably because it's very hard to do internships since we only have 2 months break from school during summer, and grades are basically the only thing they can measure you from, unless you did a shit ton of interesting projects while studying.

yeah. no one gives a fuck about grades once you're out of school. past your first job, no one gives much of a shit about your degree, either.

While what >>12270930 said is true, do note that time management is a important skill you can learn. Laziness usually goes away when your livelihood is at stake, but you should try and get better at time management while you don't have much at stake.

Just finished first year of a B.A. Engineering degree.

If the rona hadn't forced everything online I wouldve been absolutely fucked.

Get out while you can if you don't like Maths.

I went into it with a love for physics/biology but it has nothing to do with them.

I am OP. I am doing bad at statics and physics. Calculus is probably my best class along with linear algebra. I don't have too many problems with math, but statics and dynamics. Probably the reason I am bad at statics is because the resources and lack of help of teacher. This quarentine made learning harder. I tried to search for resources online but Istill don't comprehend everything for that class. What do you suggest?

>> No.12274166

Statics is hard the first time around. From my class of like 30 people, only 6 passed. All C's.

Apply for a master's and do better there.

Then your Bachelor won't seem very important.

If you are failing elementary calculus and physics I don't think you are cut out for engineering. Try other sciences like psychology or sociology

Only statics, not failing but really bad marks. Chem is meh. Calculus is good easy for me.
>Try other sciences like psychology or sociology
lol no, I would rather kms before going in those meme field.
