humans are all selfish beings, this is for self preservation. Those who are selfless and would sacrifice themselves for others suffer from a missing gene that controls self preservation.

altruism is well documented in many animals. If such a gene existed natural selection would see it vanish from the population.

Altruism still exists despite eons of evolution so really your theory doesn't work.

The other way around might though.
