Is it possible that the those humans mentioned in the book of Genesis who lived up to 900 years old were the neanderthals?
There is evidence that neanderthals had really long lifespans.

No. They went extinct well before our civilisation.
>There is evidence that neanderthals had really long lifespans.
Such as?

The area between the forehead and the eyes never stops growing.
Since theirs were so thick, it might be evidence that they live well beyond modern humans' lifespan.

>In other words, humans appear to be aging faster now than they did earlier in their history. Extrapolating this trend, the ancients would have matured at a much slower rate. Also, certain bones, including the frontal bone’s brow ridge, continue to grow throughout a person’s lifetime. If ancient people lived longer, certain of their bones would have grown beyond the extent seen in modern man with his shorter lifespan. The team of researchers confirmed, ''[I]t is likely that Neanderthal life history was similarly slow, or even slower-paced, than in recent Homo sapiens.''

All the sources are there.
Plus there is a Shiva statue at the entrance of CERN. Should we discard their research?

Genesis says two things really important:
>that the tree of life is guarded by a flaming sword, which I think of as DNA
>that a light was used to create the universe and other versions of the creation story say this light is not starlight, but a different light of creation

No because Turkana Boy was only about 12 years old when he died and his skull is primitive.

Since God says in Genesis that the years of men number about 120, those ages much greater than that probably included time dilation effects.

Numbers as big as 900 were only invented in Roman times.
If neanderthals did get that old they wouldn't have known it.
