Why /sci/ hates CS so much? You can get a lot of jobs from it, from working for the govt to working on a startup etc.

Actually, it’s more or less people like you. There’s a lot of interesting academic stuff in CS, like Gentzen proof systems, Type theories, Turing degrees and relativization, complexity theory, graphics processing, etc etc.. but people like you always say the same thing
>uhhh why do people hate cs? It can land you a job and money!
There’s nothing in your post that says anything about why someone should like CS, even though there’s plenty to like about CS.

People here hate CS as a proxy to hate people who share your mentality. You don’t see CS as anything but the ticket to a salary, and that’s fine, but you aren’t turning any heads, and you’re only reinforcing the stereotypes.

It's bait threads for CS people to fall for, but other people tend to fall for it too not realizing it's a joke. There is also the responses that cs students write that are utterly embarrassing like >>12259983 seriously dude? You need to chill out.

There's nothing about that post that is unreasonable. These threads are bait, but it's true that almost all positive conversation about CS here is accompanied by money. Nobody talks about the actual interesting parts of CS because most people are just acquainted with the boring parts that make you money and are related to software. It sells this idea that CS is not worth studying in and of itself, and that it's a tool to obtain money. Even engineering majors sell their work in a more attractive light.
