They don't "really" exist. Atheists don't KNOW if there is a God. They BELIEVE. A totally unscientific conclusion. Although science itself mitigates the possibilities of many things the bible says. No, blame politics for that. Doctors have spoke out against the highly politicized Covid-19 hype and they were silenced by Big Tech because it's an election year and Big Tech's chosen candidate is running against an incumbent president and they thought the pandemic would make the incumbent president look bad. If anything, this farce shows the danger of not separating science and state. The reason why science trumps religion is that science has the freedom to say "we fucked up so we need to rethink our approach to answering this question" while religion claims divine revelation from a perfect being that can't be wrong as being in error throws the divine being's omniscience in doubt. Science can't self-correct when politicians, either right wing or left wing, seeks to use science as a political tool.
