I don't know any good ones, just non-terrible ones.

>math memes
Don't know about memes, but once I stumbled upon a collection of jokes that were a spin on Chuck Norris facts: Gauss facts. Something like
>Gauss once took an ε so small that ε/2 was negative.
>There are no theorems, just a list of propositions Gauss allows to be true.

Damn dude. Those need to be revived

How do you know to choose delta that way, I've never really understood this part, do you need to know the calculus of the function, do you observe a graph?

Yes. I have a proof, but it doesn't fit in the post limit here.

I second this notion.

Typically you work backwards from what's needed later in the proof.
But usually a delta should be smaller as epsilon is smaller, unlike the OP image. An N typically grows as epsilon is smaller.

I am a math meme, /b/ros. On my first ever graduate-level exam of my academic career, i flubbed up a basic question. It was an algebra exam and the question was prove every subgroup of a cyclic group is cyclic. True this is something you do in undergrad but it's been forever since i did that proof. Anyways im so used to using the result I completely forgot it was nontrivial. Cost me an A on this test.

Anyways ill post a meme now because you listened to my sob story. Heres a golden oldie

Ok, but going from the second frame to the third does follow. The way the second is written leaves the expression as an operator and not applying the differention operator on the expression

I like this one

My analysis prof used to write "[math] \delta = \quad [/math]" and then picked whatever he needed after finishing the proof. Sometimes he'd end up with shit like [math] d(x,y) < h(1/n)(Mn \delta^{TrF} ) [/math]and wouldn't even bother to try and find delta; he'd just say "Since M, n, T, r, F, h and n are fixed, we've completed the proof."

classical logic was a mistake, none of this flies in inquisition logic.
