I wanted Rolf Huisgen to win. He died in March though. Disappointed I stayed up for this.

This is fine I guess. It was destined to happen eventually. Gonna enjoy hearing more chemists complain about biologists getting the chemistry nobel.

Why would I know any researchers outside of my niche?
>His many innovations have been the basis for a number of companies including Editas (Gene therapy); Gen9bio (Synthetic DNA); and Veritas Genetics (full human genome sequencing).
I do recognise these 3 companies though. And ofc the human genome project.

Doudna & Charpentier used CRISPR to make edits to an eukaryotic cell DNA.

Yoshizumi Ishino discovered CRISPR and defined it, Francis Mojica used it to edit prokaryotic cell DNA.

>> No.12205011

Feng Zhang also edited eukaryotic cells and defined it but apparently Doudna/Charpentier claim they sketched out how to do it in a paper before actually doing it... and Zhang did it before them but didn't sketch it out, or so they say.
