Of course tests administered incorrectly could yield incorrect results. That doesn't mean the test itself is invalid. We're tracking life outcomes here, it was a mistake to name it Intelligence. Accept that their definition of intelligence is the ability to apply pattern recognition to achieve desired results, and note that those GROUPS with higher IQ test results are more successful.

Not simply a number calculated from scores on simple memory and processing tasks, this I know for certain.
There are so many aspects of the brain that are totally untouched by IQ tests. Being able to hold long strings of numbers in working memory and repeat them back in or out of order or with modifications is most certainly reflective of the brain's ability to do that task, but to pretend that we are anywhere near a competent measure of the power of the brain using a 100 year old test is laughable.
Even a test devised today would be made critically ineffectively by our utter lack of understanding with respect to how the brain works fundamentally.

It is a measure of one's ability to perform a set of specific tasks relating to brain function, you can draw correlations between that measure and certain life outcomes, but it has NEVER been successfully demonstrated to be a measure of true intelligence.

We don't know the ultimate nature of the universe yet, but we still can do measurements and create predictive models. If you have a better theory that has more predictive value then you can expose it to us otherwise the current model is the best that we have, same goes for iq.
