There’s a very high probability that any given person will experience some type of life-destroying bad luck whether genetically or as a consequence of something environmental. Smart people that don't want children either fall into the "no spine" category (which is as much of a problem as being dumb), in which case they removed themselves from the gene pool (and that is a good thing), or into the "I don't want to take care of them" category.
