I am going to board the fastest jet known to man and fly in it for 20 years, so I can arrive at the future faster than anyone else. Later losers lmao

I'll race you: I'll use a carousel that will keep me at 20g's for 20 years and get some of that sweet time dilation

OP's picture is none other than the North American X-15, one of the fastest in the world with a top speed of Mach 6.72(5156mph). Wow!

That thing didn't have fuel to fly for more than a few minutes.
I know in the Ender's Game book they put Mazer Rackham on a ship after the second war and had him doing circuits around the solar system.
If they had discovered their new general early they would have stuck him with Rackham onboard the ship and continue doing donuts around the solar system until the fleets were at their destination and the third war was ready to kick off.

I grew up near the Wright Patterson Air and Space museum.
They had this massive display room and I remember the X-planes all being on display an this bad motherfucker gave me one of my first boners.
Other notable mentions was the SR-71, X-24, and M2-F3.

No you won't because we're moving the same speed relative to each other. We'll arrive at the same time, except you'll have wasted 20 years of your life in a plane andd all the waifus have gotten old waiting for you.

The 6.72 Mach record is repeated in a few sources, but 6.70 is repeated by slightly better references, and is the more conservative of the two and therefore the better number to throw out. A small difference but still.

t. have a hyper-autistic knowledge of the X-15, dad is a modelmaker and gave me an old X-15-2 kit he had laying around for years a christmas past
