How is climate change scepticism a thing when Venus is right next door?

>> No.12106850

arguments like this are why there are still climate change skeptics

>> No.12106856

>>12106848
Because the current theory as to why Venus is a hot hellish planet has nothing to do with climate change on Earth.

>> No.12106861

>>12106848
Who produced the gases in Venus?

>> No.12106901

Wow, those Venusians surely were stupid to make Venus so hot! Sadly they had no Venegreta to show them the way!

Here is your counterargument.

>> No.12106925

Earth can never become Venus lmao, things can get bad, but not that bad
If you outright lie to people to make them concerned for climate change, you give climate change deniers more fuel to build their movement

my skepticism comes from the fact that democrats have been parroting the exact same shit for like 40 years and it's ALL been based on "science" telling us we need to act NOW within the next 5 years or the polar bears will die. literally nothing has been changed
this is not apologism for republicans but my point is that something objective shouldnt be handled so politically and if it is theres a good chance that the end goal isnt sincerity and moreso greed or manipulation on someone's part
at this rate the hot garbage coming out of the democrats wiill contribute more to climate change than carbon emissions
whatever the case is go nuclear anyway

>> No.12106954

>>12106861
I don't understand the argument, are you saying that if CO2 is naturally found on Venus that it can't have a manmade origin on Earth?

Water is as natural as CO2, does that mean I can't drown you in a manmade lake?

>> No.12106964

>>12106954
WHO MADE SO MUCH GASES TO FUCK UP AN ENTIRE PLANET?

>> No.12106978

>>12106848
This is idiotic. If all fossil fuels were combusted at once, we'd still measure CO2 on Earth in parts per million. Venus's atmosphere is 96% CO2.

>> No.12107072

>>12106848
The climate on Venus isn't changing. It's been hot forever.

>> No.12107098

>>12106856
Please explain the theory then.

>> No.12107100

>my skepticism comes from the fact that democrats
Instantly destroyed your credibility.

Who made you retarded?

>> No.12107106

>>12106848
venus is not a good analogue for studying the effects of green house gases on earth

>> No.12107109

>>12106940
the IPCC isnt part of the democratic party

>> No.12107110

>>12106978
That would be a valid point if the atmosphere of Venus was as dense as the Earth. Since they're not, comparing the percentages of CO2 is irrelevant to its effect.

>> No.12107117

>>12107072
Incorrect, it had oceans that evaporated due to a runaway greenhouse effect.

>> No.12107127

>>12106861
short answer is volcanism and the suns heat

>> No.12107271

>>12107117
>it had oceans
wrong, it was never cool enough for liquid water

>> No.12107290

>>12107271
If Mars had oceans, Venus had them too retard

yeah and mercury and the moon

people on venus didnt pray enough
