You think humanity will inevitably abandon reality and switch to virtual reality? I mean what’s the point in living in the real world when all of your wild fantasies can come true through VR?

>> No.12094217

More like you'll be forced to.

>> No.12094234

Sorry, but no.
People who live in VR are literal leaches and we cannot have a working economy if everyone is a leach.
At best it would be banned. At worst, the manufacturers would use their VR tech to manipulate your memories and turn you into their slaves

>we cannot have a working economy if everyone is a leach.
During last few months half of population was literally forced to stop working.

Ask me again when it will be possible to have a blow job in vr.

And who do you think would keep the machines working and people alive and healthy?
Robots? Of course not, any human invention would have human error.
You need human maintenance and they would never do it for free

People who live in VR does not offer any benefits to society and would thus be culled. appropriately

>> No.12094315

>And who do you think would keep the machines working and people alive and healthy?
Several percents of people.
>and they would never do it for free
Will they do it for the half-price (or third-price)?
>and would thus be culled
You will be given a choice: to get in VR (and limit your sustenance costs to a bare minimum) or to get culled.

Don't change the topic
A hedonistic lifestyle is just a glorified leech
Sooner or later, you have to work or starve. Prepare accordingly

>During last few months half of population was literally forced to stop working.
See, you have a delusion that you possess a great set of skills which will always let you to earn your bread while preserving all your rights (and that is also true for the majority of population). That's far from truth and will be less true with every year. So in the end 99% of people will not have the choice
> to work or starve
they will either starve or will be forced in cheap VR with a permission necessary to get out. What can they do to oppose it, a strike?

I know what your thought process is: "I will either have important skills or starve. I don't like starving. Therefore I will always have important skills." Sadly things don't work this way.

Great, then maybe you will be in the important percent (for some time). Or you will starve pretty soon. Or you will be get some minimal benefits if you will dutifully stay in VR... I mean, home. Judging by the fact that you lack any reading comprehension, you will probably fail with your papers.

A fully automated society/economy where machines produce everything and no one/less than 5% of the population works and everyone just hangs around taking the output of the machines is 100% possible and achievable and we're going to get to this point in about ~15 years

>> No.12094767

>>12094752
Why would the 5% keep the other 95% around? The 5% that run the system can have it produce just for themselves and thus reduce the consumption of power and resources by 95%

>> No.12094777

>>12094767
5% as in only 5% of the population needs to be working at any time, so you just cycle out who works along the week. And eventually, 05 of the population will have to work and machines will do everything.
Otherwise, 5% of the population can not beat 95%, especially when everyone has machines and weapons because automation has given everyone an armory. Some weird fantasy of the rich culling off 95% of people is literal communist incel fearmongering that has no possibility of happening

>> No.12094778

This thread is full of a bunch of pathetic retards with simple minds. You do realize that the concept of VR doesn't preclude people being able to meet up within vr right? Do you even understand the possibilities of this? Entire business meetings can be done in VR. Schooling can be done in VR. You can setup robots to be manipulated through VR. People can LITERALLY FUCKING WORK and not be "useless leaches" like that one retard earlier was stating. The fact that some of you can't even imagine the transformative implications of VR on the working world is just mind boggling. Mouth breathing shitheads

Why do it in VR when you could do it in real life?
Do you really want to be a dependent vegetable so badly?

>> No.12096234

VR is economical. Why spend thousands of dollars per employee to fly and put them up in hotels for business trips when you can just conduct them virtually at a fraction of the cost. Why force everyone to commute to roughly the same area on the same schedules wasting 10s of thousands of dollars and gas and peoples time when you can just have them log in to control a robot on-demand when a job needs to be done?

VR is neither needed nor wanted.
