Primary research from countries such as Germany and Thailand have shown significant decreases in case rates with widespread mask compliance, without, however, controlling for other measures such as social distancing.[4,5]

If you're between the ages of 0 and 24 and don't have any medical conditions that would increase your risk you might feel the risk isn't big, but you could catch it then give it to people you know some of whom are more at risk. I guess it depends on whether you only care about yourself. Masks provide a false sense of security. Unless you're using a disposable mask, disinfecting your hands, not touching your face, and properly disposing and re-applying a new mask every hour or so, the risk of spreading is almost exactly the same as not wearing a mask.

We haven't seen a decline at all in COVID cases since implementing these strategies. Funnily enough, despite us getting 3 times as many cases per day as we were getting in April, the deaths per day has remained the same. It seems like the deaths aren't correlated to the number of cases. Health experts have already admitted that anyone who dies with COVID, regardless of cause of death, will be counted as a COVID death. George Floyd is considered a COVID death.
