A person is born every second though.
Many more people may die overtime because of the slow down of research because of ethics restraints.
The polio vaccine killed many people unethically in its early stages but it saved far more.

Because, imagine if you were one of those test subjects to be farmed for deadly research, like Injecting mercury into your veins to observe the results. Do you want that? Obviously not, it’s a universal ethic to not harm living organisms, since they do not want to be harmed
