Whats the point? It seems very ideological and people disagree on ethics all the time.

No, ethics prevents things like Unit 731.

>> No.12063825

>should we experiment on an entire group of people without their prior consent in a way that might end up killing them
gee I wonder why ethics might be important. go back to your high school homework

A person is born every second though.
Many more people may die overtime because of the slow down of research because of ethics restraints.
The polio vaccine killed many people unethically in its early stages but it saved far more.

science should only care about research like businesses only care about profit. leave ethics to the government

this is the epitome of an underaged argument
it sounds so good in theory until you're the one who has to be killed for "research"

Then why not just create a farm of test subjects? Children raised in a lab then reproduce then tested on?

>> No.12063899

>>12063871
Because, imagine if you were one of those test subjects to be farmed for deadly research, like Injecting mercury into your veins to observe the results. Do you want that? Obviously not, it’s a universal ethic to not harm living organisms, since they do not want to be harmed

One has to know where to stop.
If you cause suffering to animals or fellow humans its probably time to stop.

>> No.12063919

we should use people convicted of 1st degree murder without a doubt for research purposes.

and say good bye to medical research.

Because, I'd put you in it. You see, when you debase society, you leave it to nothing more than might is right, what can be enforced through implicit and explicit violence. Between me and you, I have the monopoly on violence, small fry.

2nded.

There is no good reason to not be using abhorrent criminals as test subjects

instead the state takes tax dollars to keep them behind bars for life.

Because creating sentient beings capable of feeling suffering is horrible itself. But creating sentient beings to exploit and torture them is totally evil.
