Lately I've been thinking about this stupid thing and it's been bugging me more than it should.
Basically lets say Im watching a 10 minute video. If I watch it at 1.25x speed, will be over in 7 min 30 sec if I watch it at 1.5, speed, will it be over in 5 mins? But then watching it in 2x speed = done in 5 mins, but isn't 1.5x speed = 50% of 10 mins which = 5 mins which = 1.5x speed done in 5 mins? Help me please I'm retarded.

If 2x cuts your watch time in half, and 1.5 is between 2 & 1, therefore the watch time for 1.5x would be 7minutes and 30 seconds, with 1.25x being 8 minutes and 45 seconds.

But 25% of 600 seconds is 150 seconds so 600-150=450 seconds which = 7 mins 30 seconds soo..?

1.25x squeezes 10 minutes to 8
1.25 = 5/4
10 *4/5 = 8

1.5 = 3/2
10 * 2/3 = 6.66...

2.0 = 2/1
10 * 1/2 = 5

Write the playback speed as a fraction (e.g. [math]1.5 = \frac{3}{2}[/math]). Flip over this fraction and multiply it by the video length. The result is the time it will take to watch the video at the given speed.

by your logic, if you watch at 2x speed, then 100% of 600 seconds is 600 seconds so 600-600=0 seconds, so a 2x speed video would finish in 0 seconds

>> No.12042155

don't even get started on 1.75 speed though it's not worth when you can just go to 2.0

Just divide the video length by the multiplier:

10 mins / 1.25 = 8 mins
10 m / 1.5 = 6.6 m
10 m / 2 = 5 m
10 m / 5 = 2 m
