In elementary arithmetic, geometry, algebra and calculus 2+2 almost always equals 4 but there a couple exceptions that almost never come up.
In more advanced math the exceptions become a small but significant fraction of cases.

For example, a programmer can write a program, where the number 3 is converted to number 5 e.g.

If x == 3: x=5

In this context you can say that 3 = 5, and you can apply math in your program, but that doesn't mean that 3 = 5 is ever true in math. There is a distiction between an application that uses math, and possibly has some specific rules separate from rules of math, and math.

Math can be applied to these rules, but these rules will never be a part of it.
