I have a question. I want to play sound recordings. I am making a sort of toy and i want voice and other shit. obviously i could have a micro, some external memory, and a dac and do it that way. but i want a lets say more elegant solution. maybe have some sort of chip where i can program onto its flash sound and then have it act as a slave and play sounds when i tell it to over i2c or some shit. is there such a thing?

Not sure if that would be more elegant. More like less work for you so you could just hit a button over i2c. Not sure, perhaps you need an MP3 player?
