When I was around 11 years old, around Christmas, my Dad kept asking me what I wanted. Like every year, I never really wanted anything. This year, he tells me he had a really good idea and that I'd love it. On Christmas day, I open up my present. It was a microscope. I told him I didn't want it, and he returned it soon after Christmas. I'm 20 years old now, and I hate myself.

I got a telescope when I was 12... never really used it much and it eventually broke during a move. I'm 22 and I'm going back to college to start an astronomy degree. I'm nervous and wondering if it's the right thing to do... but I don't hate myself. Moral of the story, stop being a pussy and go for it OP.

i never really 'wanted' anything as a kid sure i liked things and enjoyed playing with them but i never started crying about the fact that my mother wouldnt get a pair of sockem boppers.
