Post your results bros, and females I guess.

This test is 30 minutes. Do not answer if you don't think you know the result. Don't guess to cheat. Just click next. Make it so it tests what you actually know, not guessed.

I'm 30 and male. I got a straight average IQ. I was in some gifted program after taking an IQ test as a child but I don't know if I got less intelligent as I got older or I just capped out young. I am a diagnosed schizo though. Maybe I'm getting slower as i age.

But I am happy that I am not below average.I thought i may be pretty below average due to mental illness now.

>Yes I know online tests arent they most valid but I just want to see how others do on this same test.

Mensa.no is the gold standard of online IQ tests (assuming that they are even accurate to some extent). It was made by a licensed phycologists who has normed it according to the scores of a decently sized sample group, to give an accurate representation of the range of scores you would expect from the general population.

>> No.11882473

I've got a question though. How much does a schizo reduce your IQ as you age? My doctors never answer these questions. When I ask about the hard to treat stuff like negative symptoms/cognitive decline they just say im fine and hurry me off the topic and change the topic/end the appointment. I remember being in GATE as a kid, and taking a test with a lady alone which I think was an IQ test.

Well, if you don't cheat on them, by googling shit or some other crap, how would they be less accurate than a timed one by a psychologist? You can script timing into websites to measure time on each question and the like can't you? I'm genuinely curious, I've never studied this.

Why, scientifically, would a test designed by psychologists like the mensa.no one, by any less valid than one designed by psychologists but given in person?

Do the psychologists do more than time you and ask you questions?

It’s less valid than a proctored test administered by a psychologist because a real IQ test like the WAIS has multiple sub tests that measure different cognitive abilities like verbal and spatial IQ, processing speed, and working memory. The score report of these tests should paint a more comprehensive picture of your abilities and the idea is that all these scores actually should be roughly equivalent and collapse together to give you an idea of your general intelligence or (g) which is the average of all of the subtest scores.

There’s no way to say for sure since the neurological underpinnings of schizophrenia aren’t well known and the severe ness of each case varies on an individual basis. They say people with really high IQ’s have greater genetic predisposition to schizophrenia and mental illness so it makes since that you were in the gifted class as a child. If it’s any consolation, just know that everyone’s mental faculties start to decline at about 25 and no ones IQ is ever set in stone due to various genetic and environmental factors at play.

Why you're probably trying to trigger me, I'll respond.

I have my doubts about this article. While some stuff kind of makes sense maybe for some things I/other schizos experience, like paranoia maybe, I know some other schizo i met at mental health groups who

>speaks in word salad and cannot communicate with other human beings since he makes no sense. he is likely severely lonely and unhappy due to this but i cant ask him since he doesnt reply in a coherent way

I really don't think he's constantly purposely speaking random words that have no connection to each other.

Also, the negative symptoms of schizophrenia
>no drive
>apathy
>stunted emotions
>difficulty doing productive things
>cognitive decline
>staring at the wall doing nothing due to problems with goal orientated behavior
>physical hallucinations not just voices

visual hallucinations/olfactory hallucinations/tactile hallucinations.

How do you explain literally, feeling something that isn't there?

My hallucinations are either
>a real demon fucking with me
>severe mental disease

Not 100% sure which to be honest.

I'm not talking to myself in my head. It's a females voice that claims to be "Lilith" the queen of demons. She makes fun of me all day and tells me what to do. It's pretty gay. I am not transgender, and have no desire to be a woman. I am a man. My inner voice was more of feelings/emotions/urges before I developed this. Now it's a literally female voice that humiliates me.

I tried believing the Bible and casting it out in Jesus name. Confessing my sins, trying to stop them, and casting it out in his name. Didn't work. I tried fasting then doing it. Nope. Praying 1000's of times. Nope.

I either did something wrong (Jesus says believers can cast out demons in his name. And some demons only come out by prayer/fasting in the Bible) since I did those things. I either messed up, or its schizo.

That you're above average, 145+ is genius territory.

Anyways I've met a few people on 4chan who claim to have extremely High IQ's but act like retards. Notch the creator of Minecraft probably has an IQ of 120 yet he's a billionaire whereas some people with IQ's of 170+ are bouncers or burger-flippers.

There's I guess one notable factor IQ tests don't take into account and it's work ethic. I also theorize some people lack the ability to build up mental strategies, like in chess where you memorize certain openings and counters, they may have incredible memories for simple things, or incredible problem solving skills for immediate questions but they lack the ability to build momentum, like every time they have an IQ 170+ thought their brains get wiped clean and they start over. They can store tons of simplistic information, but not intuitive strategies?

For instance a chess computer has a bunch of pre-learned information, a dictionary/library of sorts, you can take this library away though and make it process every move from scratch, and I assume that's what most high IQ individuals are like, they don't build up a mental repertoire of 'moves' and extrapolate evidence based on the results.

Usually the 3rd image is some kind of combination of the first two. If a black square in the first image and the second image appears in the same part of the grid, what happens in the 3rd image? Sometimes they cancel out, sometimes they need to match to appear. Many of the puzzles shared this characteristic.

Intro to IQ tests:
We start splitting hairs when dividing categories, for the sake of accuracy, and different sections/multiple areas don't show someone's intelligence better or worse.
Multi-section tests are primarily good for providing the generalized g metric OR an effective mental retardation compared to the strong intelligence section of a person.
Perhaps you're extremely fast with object manipulation but can't remember uncommon words even with practice - that would indicate that you likely have brain damage/malformation in your verbal/memory areas.

With all that said:
>>11883994
This is an OK test. 50+ questions with an expected slope of complexity/change of patterns
This test also only covers exactly one aspect of IQ (with a caveat - a well done pattern/maths/"fluid" test also bridges into crystallized knowledge recall), and thus is useless for an IQ tests' real purpose - uncovering possible weaknesses.

OPs Mensa test AND the popular .dk Raven's Matrices are also in this category - good-enough-to-OK, yet not an indicator of anything useful beyond simple logic application.

>>11882423
This is a garbage test, much too short and much too easy. Overscored by nearly 12 points.
>>11884367
This is also a garbage test, much too easy. I shouldn't have scored 152 on the verbal/crystalline I have never scored that high in any section of any IQ test. I shouldn't have scored 139 in the pattern/fluid.
My officially tested WAIS-III Adult IQ is 132

>>11882579
>start to decline at 25
That's the average age the neurons in the pre-frontal have (or are near) complete myelin sheath growth i.e. complete brain structure formation and full speed communication.

That is not the age mental ability begins to decline.
For most people the brain is a fully functional unit (in this sense of healthy full speed communication) until the mid 40s to mid 50s, and even then neuronal degradation for the next decade can be measured as a loss of single percents of fuctional ability.

So I have a question after reading this thread.

I have a friend who's alt-right. I'm not, I'm centrist. He goes on about blacks being low IQ and mexicans being low IQ and spews how IQ is genetic and how they're genetically inferior basically. I really dislike this, but I am not the best debater in the moment, i freeze up and dont know how to rebut his points and I don't know how to respond to the statistics he lists since I don't care enough to research this in detail.

But, after seeing you guys explain IQ tests. The IRL ones go over, verbal, spatial, and some math based skills correct?

So, logically, that'd imply if someone was born poor, had a bad education or no education (African countries) or etc... their environment played a huge outcome into the result of their IQ test.

This is what I was telling him. Poverty and culture/way you are raised are the main reason for differences among nations/races. Not genetics.

How do I scientifically disprove a racist person and help them see blacks and Mexicans and Arabs are not shit tier people?

>note. I dislike many african cultures, Arab cultures (dont like Islam) and Chinese culture (i hate how they treat animals and the xenophobia in many asian countries). But I'm fine with americans of all skin colors. I don't feel I hate the people for their skin color/race, but I just don't like cultures that stone homosexuals and kill cats/dogs and the like.

You can improve this with practice. Let's start with the first row. The first grid has black at C2 and C3. The second grid has black at C2. The third has black at C3. In this case, C2 is cancelling out, it will be white in the 3rd. C3 is black in the first and 3rd image, so it looks like if there's not a match in the first two images, it carries over to the 3rd image.

Continue for the second row. The first image is black on A3 and B1. The second is black at A2, A3, B2, and C3. In this case, there's only a match a A3, and we learned form the first row of images that they cancel out. All of the other coordinates will be black in the 3rd image.

Third row, image one is black at A3, B1, C2, C3. Image two is black at A2, A3, B2, C2, C3. Based on the rules we found, which will cancel out and which will carry over to the 3rd image?

If you see a black square in the upper left corner of the first image, and a black square in the upper left corner of the second image, the upper left corner of the third image will be white. That's rule 1. If you see a black square in the middle of the first image, and a white square in the middle of the second image, then the third image will have a black square in the middle. That's rule 2.

Look at the grid points I gave in the other message. If, for example, you see black at A1 in each of the first two images, cross it out. If you don't see a match, then that coordinate will be black in the third image.

suppressing emotions is a mechanism of effortful control through the inhibition executive function which is not related to fluid intelligence. Expecting everyone to be like one would probably correlate negatively with verbal intelligence, since inability to take perspective is a symptom of low openness to experience and openness to experience is an indicator of verbal intelligence. Being judgemental would be a result of externalizing negative emotionality, which while related to hypomania, I doubt it would have much to do with IQ. Being accidentally rude would relate negatively to the motivation to think about the needs of other people, and theory of the mind, which would have an aspect that has to do with apophenia and that wouldn't be related to intelligence, and another one that's related to the complexity of attributed intentionality (e.g. thinking about what someone thinks about what I think about their thoughts) that would has to do with IQ. Black and White insofar as it's related to emotions, as when one catastrophizes it wouldn't be much IQ related, but for the case of sophistication it would relate to some of the ways in which intelligence would manifest. Treating politics like sport is driven by many factors but it also has to do with metacognitive executive functions and in that sense it is related to IQ. Irony would be related to high intelligence. The rest are related to the personality trait openness and its relation to intelligence, except thinking in words which might not be that relevant to intelligence unless one cannot think in words which would show that they have an inability to abstract and that would reflect as a poor score.

There would also be a symmetry in the shapes such that it could also be conceptualized as three kinds of shape either above or below in a way that they don't repeat in the same row or column of matrix entries. Also the shapes on the left would share always the same shape above and below. That's probably the result of the shapes having some order especially in the vertical orientation where they go decreasing in the ring of integers modulo 3: three, two, one, three, two... however for the horizontal, the bottom shapes increase, while the top shapes decrease. Now a possible justification of why the one occupies the same center as the three might be because if the matrix was bigger there would be a complement of one, which would be the four, and this would imply that only five has no complement which might be related to the reason of why it's invariant. Though well those are some silly speculations.

>> No.11887461

>>11887451
Another possilbity as to why the three occupies the same center as the one, is that if you add 1 + 2 + 3 it overflows if the space is five, and the most ntaural way for it to start again would be to take the first one that was used, which is the center (for one). However, there would be another question as to why first it was center then the corners, and then the centers of the sides. A possible explanation for that might be that the center is not actually the beginning but rather the end, however it would be curious why the one starts in the center, but one possibility is that the two is central to one, two, three. I have no idea of the exact reason but it's interesting to ponder

executive function is very much related to intelligence, the capacity to disengage from useless information is important whenever you're solving complex problems with branching possible paths of action. The rest I largely agree with, however insincerity and broadly speaking "sense of humor" is not strongly related to intelligence. Otherwise, as should be obvious comedians would be the most intelligent people and they clearly are not. The same suspect associations are alleged between intelligence and earning power and intelligence and attractiveness. Unless you believe that super models and mega billionaires are more intelligent than fields medal winners and CERN employees, this is clearly unsustainable and the correlation must weaken as one moves further towards the extreme right end of the bell curve.

Because the hypothesis is that there is some fundamental trait that affects all cognitive tasks, meaning that they all correlate to some degree with each other.

The task then becomes to find tasks which:
a) correlate highly with performance in other mental tasks and
b) are relatively easy to administer and measure.

What IQ research has done is it has identified that "selecting the box which follows a pattern" correlates very highly with other important tasks.

>You know what else correlates very highly with intelligence? Probably doing well on any test.
I wonder if that's partially related to desire. It doesn't matter what test I take, I always try (not always beforehand in terms of studying, but I will stress the hell out of my brain during the test, to the point that I'll get exhausted). I've known many people who just didn't seem to care about their results. I don't consider myself intelligent, but I test well, which in turn makes other people believe I'm intelligent.

Generally it seems like the people who make miserable students don't understand how to apply themselves. But then there's the super intelligent folks who didn't seem to give a damn about school or tests if it/they didn't align with their interests, but they had an understanding of what was important and could work obsessively when needed. So it's not completely black or white I guess.

Moved 3 times as a kid, got tested in 3 different schools. Ultimately, depression and anxiety (both official diagnosis) and possibly aspergers (self tested, learned about it, makes sense to me) lead me to dropping out of school. Can't work and focus in academic environments for shit. There was even a huge confusion among teachers because I'd teach others how to do math and physics and gave correct answers when asked casually, but I'd get low grades in tests. So I had some volunteer student to teach me math, and when I did it with him, everything was correct. Next day wrote the test and got an F. Weird stuff.

I actually have a poor long term memory, and my working memory seems to be average at best. I spend a lot of time relearning things I forget, but it's made me a good problem solver. I think it's why I do well on IQ tests without matching real world results, because most things require some degree of memorization. The tests I hated involved memorization of facts and dates (though I would learn them, but only until the test was completed), but I could figure out formulas and processes without relying on rote memorization, often without even looking at the material.

The smartest people I know seem to have incredible long term and working memories. They seem to be able to synthesize new information quickly, retain it, and manipulate it at will. It looks like you and I each have half of the equation.

It's literally understanding vocabulary. It's crystallized intelligence - shit you learned. How could it possibly not increase by learning more vocab through reading? Anyone can score perfect on a verbal iq test with vocab practice.

>reading comprehension and vocab doesn't go up with reading
Okay. And yes the main thing here is verbal iq can increase by learning more.

If you grow up and read more and develop a better vocab and comprehension you're going to be able to be better at reading comprehension and vocab. I don't understand why you think that concept is difficult

That's the ADHD life.
Why would you want to quit smoking, just use a vape bro. Quitting the ingestion of nicotine itself is about as important as quitting caffeine. People that smoke frequently also have a lower risk of getting certain kinds of dementia in later life.

Just hire someone for 3 to 6 hours a week to come over and tell you sternly to do something productive. Not even meming, that could actually work.
