i saw that. pretty fucking sad. i thought this bit was weird
>The way the animals appear to be dying - many dropping on their faces - and sightings of other elephants walking in circles points to something potentially attacking their neurological systems
poor jumbo :(
also if there's a virus that can eat elephants' brains, if it ever crosses to humans we're fucked

The "unidentified reason" is always Americans and their weapon/hunt/trophy obsession

Probably some American poisoned them

mutts are known for torturing animals in Africa (and no I’m not talking about black people, I meant actual animals )

"It is only elephants that are dying and nothing else," Dr McCann said. "If it was cyanide used by poachers, you would expect to see other deaths."

Back in May, Botswana's government ruled out poaching as a reason - noting the tusks had not been removed, according to Phys.org.

Looks like a drought forced them to drink from water infested with blue-green algae.

I'd think the Chinese have something to do with it. The arrogant mother fuckers have been doing all kinds of fucked up CRISPR type shit to wild animals all over the world for years.

Not necessarily. Remember these elephants are being moved here from other parts of Africa, places further north where droughts are less likely to happen. The animals already in Botswana would be resistant to cyanotoxins, it is pretty much a desert after all.

Anyways it's just a theory.

some african that lives there said and posted links how - that country where that happened recently issued a bunch of hunting licenses and opened up new legal hunting grounds because - the population got out of hand and the elephants are pestering the populace
The guy wise like - i probably think our goverment made a mistake or just wants to profit out of this because that sounds unreasonable

Chronic Wasting Disease should be examined as a possiblity. It was only a matter of time before the filth jumped again to another group of mammals, since humans have once again refused to clean up their mess.

but their not being butchered or tusked which indicates otherwise, unless their just that spiteful they'd poison them in revenge for the death of the trade, poison would be purty obvious through a blood analyses tho.
