If we managed to beat depression we would not be exhausted by immortality as some might attest.

To beat. To fight. To win over. These things define struggle. To beat "depression" we must break it. They say that weaponizing psychology was one of the most horrendous things of WW2 but the ability to weaponize etymology itself. There is where you can set the balance against itself. Divide and conquer. Break apart the word. Prefix by prefix, word by word, letter by letter. Understanding something is to encapsulate it. Control it, and, manipulate it.

I beat depression by making it sadder than it makes me, who even is that fucker? Some state of mind? A mental disorder? Pffft, like I'll even give that insignificant disorder the time and recognition it doesn't deserve

After our mental juices settle and we no longer think that death gives meaning to anything, we will continue our ascension to godhood.

Depression is a social construct. In fact the concept is just there to sell drugs.

The thing is, it only needs to win once. You on the other hand have to win forever if you want to live eternally.

Actually no, you could always repair your brain to produce the endorfins it needs. Depression is more so moodyness, lack of stimulation, by layman terms. I bet we could fix even that, and instead turn it to inspiration inducing boredom. It also can't take hold of you forever if it's not actual damage, it would wither away eventually.
