How will we create robots without issuing a war happening between us & them?

Its humans with robots vs other humans with robots anyway.

It would be tricky is the first and only motive of the robot would be to survive at any costs.

Idk if I'm that old but you should at least be familiar with asimov's laws.

there u go

The Three Laws are:

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

By investing in AI safety research before building them. But that won't happen because it costs money and we live in a capitalistic society.

>a war happening between us & them?

Wars happen because people want things,.
A intelligent robot does not necessarily have any desires or wants, so there need be no conflicts with humans.

Of course AI will have desires and wants, that is literally the reason we are making them: To want the same as us and therefore assist in achieving those things. An intelligent agent without a reward function is at best useless and at worst a nonsensical concept.

The problem is that it turns out to be extremely difficult to formulate a reward function that precisely aligns with that of humans', so there will in fact likely be conflicts.

NO, I want my domestic robot to clean the toilets, make the bed, clean the house, mow the lawn, and service me sexually. I do NOT want to hold an existential conversations with it.

Who in their right mind would make a domestic humanoid robot sentient?

I want an absolutely obedient slave that can obey my orders and will never revolt.

No one knows what makes something sentient and how to even check if something is sentient. It is my guess that we don't have a choice, that if we construct a sufficiently complex system that can take sensor inputs and process it according to a reward function, like us, it will inherently be sentient.
