How will we create robots without issuing a war happening between us & them?

The Three Laws are:

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

Of course AI will have desires and wants, that is literally the reason we are making them: To want the same as us and therefore assist in achieving those things. An intelligent agent without a reward function is at best useless and at worst a nonsensical concept.

The problem is that it turns out to be extremely difficult to formulate a reward function that precisely aligns with that of humans', so there will in fact likely be conflicts.

NO, I want my domestic robot to clean the toilets, make the bed, clean the house, mow the lawn, and service me sexually. I do NOT want to hold an existential conversations with it.

No one knows what makes something sentient and how to even check if something is sentient. It is my guess that we don't have a choice, that if we construct a sufficiently complex system that can take sensor inputs and process it according to a reward function, like us, it will inherently be sentient.
