Why was the term "autistic psychopathy" abandoned for "Asperger's" and later "high-functioning autism"? Just better memetics? The former is the most descriptive of the three in terms of understanding the condition from name alone.

idk man idk how anyone can take a diagnosis like autism seriously. If you have a broken bone you don't call it broken bone syndrome, it's clearly just the consequences of something else. We have such a diverse population now as soon as you are away from your friends you might be surrounded by people you have nothing in common with. Autism is a spectrum, it normally isn't diagnosed unless it's causing difficulties.
Somalians in Sweden calls it the "swedish disease" because their children are so overrepresented and the reason is unclear.
