1/3=0.333.... here, 0.333... is an incomplete expression representing a state of 1 being constantly divided by 3. Similarly, (1/3)x3=1=0.333...x3=0.999... and 0.999... is now also an incomplete expression for 0.333... being constantly multiplied by 3. It's just a math version of word games. It simply shows that the language of math isn't perfect. I don't get how brainlets still don't understand this.

Less than 1 isn't 1. Sorry OP.

Something to ponder: You can fit "0.999..." in "1" but you can't fit "1" in "0.999..."

Really activates the almonds, doesn't it?

since those two are the exact same number, they certainly can fit into one another. Just because you write it differently doesn't mean anything.
Can you fit cos(0) into sin(90)? yes you can. But wait, they "look" different to me, so how can that be, omg!!!!

>since those two are the exact same number
One is 1.
The other is 0 followed by "." followed by an infinite amount of 9s.

Consider a numerical object, (1-0). Is (1-0) the same as one? But it has two numbers and a minus sign!!1 It can't be equal to 1, right? Wrong!

Like I said, 0.333...=(1/3). Same thing.

.9... isn't less than 1. It's one written differently, similar to how 5/5 is 1, but using fractions and non-one numbers.
>>11750274
By that logic 5^0=/=1 because one is 1 and the other is a five raised to a zero. That's your "logic". That's how stupid you sound to someone who actually knows how to do math. Math majors literally learn how to prove .9...=1 in undergrad calculus courses.

1 does fit in .9... you literal retard.

Winston Smith learned that 2+2 could equal anything. What's your point?
>people are taught something, thus its true
is absolute NPC level logic.
With that logic, millions of Jews were gassed to death by "Nazis".

It is since the difference is infinitely small as to simply not exist. If you can't measure or quantify a difference there is no difference.

The letters {o,n,e} aren't the same as the letters {u,n} or {i,c,h,i}. Therefore no one in Japan or France understands the number 1.

That is correct, but 0.999... is not less than 1, so your point has little bearing on the topic of this thread.
