HEY /SCI/ I JUST INVENTED AN AIR CONDITIONER THAT DOESN'T NEED ELECTRICITY TO RUN, I'M GONNA BE RICH!

And a hurr durr here and a hurr durr there,
Here a durr, there a durr, and everywhere a hurr durr
Old McTrollan had a farm,
Herp durr hurr derp durr

Oh shit I see what I did wrong, I should convert the electricity into standard AC current and THEN NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR ELECTRICITY EVERY AGAIN! TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE!

herp this doesn't use a mechanical ratchet in solution with a ratchet pawl subject to brownian motion too. It uses a magnet and a coil of wire to convert molecular motion to electrical energy.

Exact same concept.

not really, they are very different. So why doesn't it work?

well numero uno, resistors don't dissipate heat from inside the house. they convert electrical energy into heat energy. this is like saying you can pay for your medical bill with a chicken, but instead of a chicken, you pay for it with nothing. then you get sued.
actually it's exactly like that.

Yeah, no.. no. Think about it till you get it. You can't extract useful energy using Brownian motion. Its the exact same concept.

YOU FUCKING IDIOTS, MAGNETS CAN'T BE USED TO POWER ANYTHING FOREVER

MAGNETS LOSE THEY'RE MAGNETIC CHARGE OVER TIME

GOD DAMMIT

but the oscillating magnetic field generated by the magnet induces a current in the resistor which causes a back magnetic field to be generated that opposes the magnets movement causing the surrounding molecules to be slowed down or reduced in temperature. This current is converted into thermal energy by the resistor.

Magnets can't be used to power anything, ever, for any amount of time.

why can't one extract energy from brownian motion?
(also answering the second law of thermodynamics won't do, because we can't mathematically prove the second law of thermodynamics)

Fuck /sci/, I know this doesn't work, I just don't know fucking why it doesn't work. Also someone managed to patent this idea:

Why?
Also the second law of thermodynamics hasn't been proven.

no it doesn't, the voltage being induced in the inductor by the magnet is out of phase of the current, and will not "hinder" the magnet with an additional magnetic field that you're making up. with dc current, inductors act as nothing but an ac buffer, while with ac, they're just a resistor that puts current and voltage out of phase. it will not cause the magnet to resist movement in any way, "cooling" the gas around it, especially with the resistor upping the lc time constant making the magnet look like a guy jumping up and down wondering why he isn't moving the planet.

thanks, this thread can die now. I am not disappoint /sci/.
