I want to get into it, stargazing and such. What would you recommend for an entry level telescope?

I would recommend my own, The Meade ETX-90.

It may be a bit expensive, if you just want to try. But any cheaper telescopes would make your'e experience with stargazing bad.

I would not buy anything under 400$ if i were you. However, you could start with something less expensive, like a binocular or a DSLR with a tele-lens.

It takes good pictures if you combine it with a DSLR camera. Using Nikon D80 myself.

I will try to post some pictures ive taken as soon as i get some good ones :P Not the best time of year where i live, to see anything...

Well, I would definitely have to drive a ways to get away from light pollution. Any specific features of the one you have that you like?

- Traking motor (Upgradeable to Go-To system)
- Extremely portable. The tripod comes with a bag, and the telescope fits great in a medium sized backpack. (or you can buy the hard-suitcase for it.
- It is ok for Deep Space seeings. (Far away stars, Nebulas, etc.)
- Did i mention that the motor goes on 8 AA batteries? No need for an outlet :)

I might save up for one of those... though between tuition and rent it'll probably take me a while. :\

Thanks. I really like that it is computer controlled. I know I would be hard pressed to find anything good to look at on my own.

If you dont smoke weed every day you cannot call yourself an astronomer, much less a cosmologist.
