There is no evidence that humanity is getting smarter...Sure we acquire more knowledge every day and write it down, as we have since the invention of writing that allowed us to conquer our habitat... But we have reached a point when we have become comfortable with our language and our science and our lifestyles... and comfortable with surrendering control to our governments and corporations and powers at be... and thus we continue the cycle that has occurred since our existence and make significantly less of a difference as our numbers enthrope our surroundings.
