64 = 65?

The animated gif says otherwise.

Not a perfect square.

Similar to the "rearrange the pieces of this triangle and get one extra triangle" bullshit.

Try it with paper and you'll see.

I'm pretty sure this is one of those 'Missing square' puzzles. There's a break in the diagram somewhere, so it doesn't actually match up to the starting diagram.

Much like in the attached picture, where the end result is no longer a triangle, as there is a small break between the red and the dark green pieces, as the ration of the sides was altered. Thus, it is no longer a right triangle.

The top right-hand corner of the 5 x 13 doesn't even line up correctly.

Actually, you can see pretty clearly that the lower triangle is bent outward, and the upper triangle is bent inward. This space equals one little square.

Look at the edges in the first one. They're nice and clean. Look at the main diagonal part of the second one. hurr durr

The angles are not the same.

>> No.1166364

the ratio of the cut on the red and green triangles is 3:8 (0.375)

the other two are cut like 2:5 (0.4)

the rectangle will not close all the gaps, resulting in missing area

this one is so much fun if you ask it to really dumb people.
