So I've found out the electromagnet I'm planning on making will have a force of 0.01 tesla.
But what does that mean?
How much weight can 0.01 tesla lift?

no the force is measured in Newtons. 0.01 tesla refers to strength of magnetic field

not much. neodymium magnets are 0.4-1.0T at the surface
0.01T (100 gauss) is like, fridge magnet
