Watched this last night. It argues that green energy is now owned by the same people who run fossil fuel industry, and all green energy is dependent on coal or combustion. The only way to prevent destroying ourselves is apparently to stop reproducing and use less energy.

Criticisms are that they cherry pick outdated equipment and use analogy and gotcha tactics to make people look bad.

I'm not sold either way but the "100 percent Green energy Festivals" being blatantly powered by the grid was pretty funny. And those billionaires look sketchy as fuck.

Infinite population growth was a mistake. Anybody who says otherwise is a cultist or hasn't understood the implication of unpredictability inherent in large numbers

Anyone with some critical thinking can figure out for themselves that the documentary is bullshit. You're not gonna make it OP.

The documentary is spot on, and you are the moron in denial.

It is not saying fewer people, although that would work; It is saying less consumption per person. So we need to think in terms of far less energy per person in terms, not just of energy generated, but in need for that energy.

Just because they attack the messenger as being capitalist, doesn't change the equation. Part of critical thinking is not to dismiss the argument simply because the messenger used sophistry. They still made the argument that we consume too much and that climate change is not as important as habitat removal when it comes to the future of the planet.

You don't need critical thinking to make it

Natural selection. The weak stop having children and cuck themselves out of resources, the strong outbreed the weak and take all the resources they can.

Yeah that was a red flag for me, they didn't make any arguments about nuclear and it left a glaring hole in the documentary for me.

I don't think it's about out breeding in quantity, I think it's out breeding quality. Bribery, nepotism and corruption. It's pretty bad to just perpetuate a system that allows the majority of people to have shit lives though... Like I get it, I got mine, fuck everybody else, but surely there's a better way.
