Hey /sci/,

I'm currently studying for a degree in Theatre Design ( I know it seems useless to a board full of physicists, engineers, etc., but it's something I love to do.), however, I'm considering pursuing a Masters in Architecture. What I want to know is the type of math I should study in ordered to be prepped. I'm graduating from a local clown college, and about to transfer to University. I just kind of coasted through my GR math (Lib. Arts math, and Stats.), I kind of regret doing that. Advice?

what do people in theatre design do anyway?

start at calculus, then see if it's too advanced or too simple for you and adjust.

Believe it or not, there is actually a lot TD work around where I live. However, the pay varies.

Learn Calculus, that's for sure. The foundation of almost all applied mathematics.

Can you do that? It takes 6-7 years to become an Architect, you know. 3 year Bsc, 2 years in industry, and sometimes a year after that.

No one knows what architects do. I think it would be beneficial to take a few civil engineering courses along with the math. TD can't be too credit intensive.

OP here. It's sort of an umbrella term. Because Theatre Design can consist of creating a lighting plot, sound plot, stage management, set construction, and actually designing the stage itself. It just takes a few years on the job to specialize in the area of your interest. In fact, many people move into Television after a few years on the job.

At Universit of South Florida, you can. Their masters program is four years, it focuses on a lot CAD work and basic design for the first two years, and more into the artistic side the last two years.
