Have we made so little progress on nuclear fusion because of over engineering and grant farming? Why is there no chicago pile 1 of nuclear fusion? Is this lack of forward momentum the biggest problem we face as a society?

I find this comic in particular weirdly compelling, even if it's not funny

Well this one is rather innocuous, but a lot of that he drew seems like something that would be appreciated by somebody who lives in a society where people are constantly plotting against each other and sees nothing wrong with it. There is such deep evil in his comics that any prolonged reading leaves you with a lingering feeling of revulsion.

There's a prospect that says, that developers of this stuff get shut down by goverment.

Imho because it has some hidden weaponization properties.

But we had cold fussion 20 years ago, and we have other overbalanced chemistry and physics.

Nobody bats and eye on it because it's ruining current profit models.

Yeah bro all you gotta do is make a big pile of hydrogen then bam, you’ve got a sun. This is why we dont have hydrogen powered cars, the fuel tanks would be causing spontaneous fusion and the mans gotta hide that from us
