Other "universes" probably would have different names if we could observe and catalog them.

Just like how we call the Sun the Sun, but Suns are also a class of astronomical object. Or our Moon is THE Moon, but other Moons exist.

Supposing that other universes exist, how would we distinguish them from out own universe? Given that historically "the universe" meant something akin to "everything that exists", how can something other than the universe exist? Surely if we discover new universes, it just means THE universe is larger than we previously realized?

At one point astronomers thought that the Milky Way was the entire Universe before Hubble definitively proved that Andromeda was a separate galaxy. Early theories on multiple galaxies referred to other galaxies as "island Universes."

So, there isn't any reason why other Universes couldn't be called other Universes. I imagine their proper names would be like most astronomical objects, a catalog or instrument identifier followed by a number.

On the other hand there is already a name for more than one universe and it's multiverse. I suspect this nomenclature to stick around.
