It takes heat to break down carbon which then releases carbon dioxide.
Instead of being a leading indicator, CO2 is a lagging indicator of heat.

All gases that absorb and release heat stop heat from leaving Earth. Greenhouse gases are special because they not only stop heat from leaving Earth, they allow sunlight to enter while other gases block sunlight. So the net effect of greenhouse gases is to increase the amount of energy in Earth's atmosphere, while other gases can block as much or more energy from entering as they do from leaving.

And this doesn't respond to anything I said. Do you admit that "carbon dioxide creates heat" is a strawman? Do you admit heat is not necessary to produce CO2? Do you admit CO2 can both lead and lag heat?

So Earth is a temperature vacuum? Don't be obtuse. You said it "takes heat" to break down carbon and produce CO2 but there are many exothermic reactions that do this.

How does the drop in nighttime temperature or winter imply that CO2 doesn't trap heat? The drop temperature is due to the Sun sending less energy to the one side of Earth. Heat from the cooling Earth is still being trapped by CO2, other gasses and clouds. This is easily observable: the temperature will drop on dry nights with clear skies up to 4 degrees/hour faster than on humid nights with cloudy skies.

You have again failed to defend your strawman that "CO2 causes heat" and your claim that CO2 only lags heat. So I guess you're abandoning these arguments and admitting they're false.

Carbon dioxide is a cooling gas.
Take a CO2 cartridge and spray a couple short bursts onto a thermometer.
The reading will quickly go from room temperature to below freezing.

That's only true for compressed liquid CO2 which when released boils at a low temperature, cooling objects. That has nothing to do with CO2 in the atmosphere, which is gaseous and at atmospheric pressure and temperature. I can't tell if you're trolling or actually this stupid.
