is there any flaws on this idea, from a medical point of view?
a former competitive rower told me a bar is all you really need to develop a powerful body.

obviously you'd have to rest between sessions to allow muscle growth. Your gains will be much lower than the weight increase to gain more mass. You would hit a plateau within a year without added weights

Muscle gain isn't a linear equation. It's a differential equation.

Get a gf and do pushups with her on your back, tricep dips on the ground with her on your lap, have her try to push your legs down during ab raises, etc. That's what I do. I'm in great shape and haven't been to the gym in years.

I think pullups are fine for your lats and back but not much else. Chinups put too much strain on your joints to be a good bicep workout imo.

You likely wouldn't see much gains in terms of size, but if you look at body physiology of rock climbers that is basically what you are describing.

As you develop more muscle, it will require more calories per day to maintain, so you would need to eat more and more to see further gains.

The best rock climbers that I see basically look like they don't workout at all.

>> No.11606333

>>11606318
What about how they look non-basically?

>> No.11606355

>>11606318
Yeah, that's not only because of the nature of those exercises but also because as a climber you want to find some happy medium between your own mass and how fatiguing it it to haul yourself up and down the walls.

Lighter body = easier to pull yourself around
Lighter body = less muscle mass

This obviously has some performance floor where you don't have enough muscle mass to climb at all, but once past that, it's more or less personal preference between performance and aesthetics.
