I'm looking to learn a little about Sterling engines. How do they work? What are they used for? How effeciant are they? Do they pollue? etc etc.

Bump a ru.

>How do they work?
heat differential between two points
>What are they used for?
demonstrations in physics labs
>How effeciant are they?
heat is probably the least efficient form of energy. you do the math
>Do they pollue?
when you make one, and probably when you throw one away, yea

Fucking Miracles!

They don't pollute directly, it depends on the heat source. It is possible to use a parabolic dish to reflect light for the heat.

I tried to make one but failed a bit, it almost ran but then some bits broke because it got too hot.

You did better than me, mine did nothing.

Post ITT if you thought that was powder toy.

I think this is genius myself, you've got heat, so use it to get rid of the heat!

That's been proven to be one of the worst northbridge coolers ever. A typical fan would work much better... along with a heatsink that doesn't suck, too.

So? It's a fucking northbridge, it only overheats if you've got no airflow in your case whatsoever.

This one needs a temperature difference of only 5 K to run at 100 rpm.
