Is the simulation postulate a threat to the theory of common descent, to materialism because it’s suggests that the world is illusory?

Do atheists reject the simulation idea because it’s necessitates an intelligent programmer?

You prolly wouldn't understand. Dawkins apparently doesn't get it either

bumpo I was hoping to generate great conversation.

An emergent property and a fundamental aspect are no different.

It's a side-effect, an useless side-effect. Well it works for us, but it's still a side-effect.

You should check out Sir Roger Penrose's idea, it's something to do with the symmetry of the pathway of neurons. He then says that because of this fancy symmetry there's some quantum hocus pocus which causes consciousness. Still a lot more into it I'm just pretty novice about the topic.

blahh. he says it's not a computation and not a physical process that can be described by computation. He has a theory, the Orch OR, that is a biological philosophy of the mind that postulates that consciousness originates at the quantum level inside neurons, rather than the convention view that it's a product of connection between neurons. he says he has no idea

No. Consciousness transcends physicality and physicality is subjective to consciousness.

Oh, it's this retard again. Why do you keep shitting up every thread with this same meme reply?

the simulation idea is dumb because it doesn't answer any questions, it just pushes them off.

Because you keep making these off topic trash threads where you're trying to argue about some ill defined philosophical quasi-magical bullshit.

Physics is an imaginary model projected onto reality which is itself pure imagination. You are God dreaming. You are trapped within yourself for eternity.

Ok satan, that makes sense of nothing and raises a ton of questions. What reason is there to think consciousness is limited to one entity anyways?

The lack of boundaries in the physical world is self-evident. But I don't know, God is supposed to be infinite according to enlightened people, infinity can only interact with itself.

I'm not the OP of any of the threads in question and I doubt they were made by the same anon, retard.

Fucktard. You know damn well what consciousness is and your pseudo-intellectual sad attempt at boosting your ego by asking retarded questions like 'what is consciousness?' shows how sad and pathetic your existence must be.
