You have a bias by assuming since intelligence arose, it must be inevitable, but there are many things about the rise of the human brain that are incredibly unlikely to all coincide within a single species. Study the evolution of man and it will seem impossible to you that we are not intelligently designed to become a sapient species. THAT is the great filter.
