galaxy A is on one side of the universe
galaxy B is on the other side of the universe
galaxy C is somewhere roughly mid way between A and B, and contains star 1 and star 2

star 1 and star 2 exert a gravitational pull on each other, meaning that space is curved

the curvature of space by star 1 and star 2 means that galaxy A and B are now closer to each other despite not communicating

many/most humans have an innate desire to understand the world
books on astronomy are, per kg, more valuable than commodities such as sugar, coffee, salt, potatoes etc

literally the only reason society exists is so that we can think about things like the OP
Humans dont exist "to advance society", society exists so that humans can be secure and healthy enough to spend time making art, pursuing knowledge and love, and playing sports.

You mean you suddenly place stars 1 and 2 im between them?
Then gravity propagates at max with c, so no, not faster than light.
