Communists/socialists are mostly recruited by appeals to idealism ("Imagine how good the world would be if we all just....") which necessarily messes with their evaluation of their current reality, devaluing it in comparison to the utopia that 'should/could' be, and guilt/shaming tactics that are necessary to get individuals to devote/sacrifice themselves for abstract categories like class (the poor are victims of oppression, they need your help..etc.) , mixed with resentment inducing focus on the 'unfairness' of the existence of people with more than others. It's no wonder they are generally more miserable.

The only reason psychopaths are stigmatised is because they cannot be controlled and rendered docile as easily through the usual empathy/shame mechanisms. It's out of self interest people try to surround themselves with unselfish/safe/controllable people.

What's wrong with self-interest? I find myself utterly fascinating and endlessly interesting, why shouldn't others find it enjoyable? All an audience ever wants is the freedom to define the performer, which I always let happen because divinely speaking the audience changes slower than the performer, always, and therefor is more consistent/reliable.

If I only bothered to interact with other performers then I'd have a much harder time maintaining my own inner sanctum.
