If brain is just an eletric-driven organ, based on current transmission between neurons, could a specific designed electromagnetic field interfere with it in a controlled way? Could it generate specific thoughts, emotions or heal particular diseases?

yes, look up "Brainwave entrainment", it is a frequency following effect of the human brain, and brainwave patterns.

the trouble with the human brain, is that it has trouble differentiating between it's own internal brainwave pattern, and one that is "projected" on the brain from non-local sources.

Some intel community research went into this, using what is known as "Voice to skull" technology (microwave hearing/heating effect" that can literally put voices in your head with no discernable source of the sound, coupled with some subliminal tactics of high frequency (beyond audible range) carrier waves with a lower frequency wave (voice, sound, signal) subtracted from it.

They literally record your brainwave patterns, and then play them back in your own mind, to take advantage of the brainwave entrainment effect.
