They're just math grads or people studying mathematical physics and that's all they know. It's just their field and I don't doubt that it can be intimidating to the undergrad, but they're mostly just facetious and more often seen as useless to people who do actual science.

The language of de-referentialism is the primary indicator of intelligence. The ability to present self and then distance self as a communicator from topic or the ability to isolate others/self is what generally makes other humans identify intellect in another because the stock standard human is bound to their social support structures.

Plenty learn to survive or export themselves outside of that but they are not the status quo or average joe.
